The Westborough Baptist Church, Kansas

I just thought i would ask people of a typical ilk of open-mindedness about the above church. They have made an infamous space for themselves on the long arm of Christianity that has been compared (rightly or wrongly) to the Klu Klux Klan.

The WBC make statements about God's divine will on Earth being to 'out' and furthermore seek to punish those they deem as 'fags' and all those that support the idea of homosexuality.

Now, i am aware that by talking about the WBC i am in fact strengthening their resolve and making their voice heard. But i am at a loss when they say they will picket the private funeral of Heath Ledger due to his appearance in "Brokeback Mountain'.

I just wondered what people who are open to the wierd and wonderful of Mother Earth thought about this?

Chrispyx
Forum: Old Messages

Demystifying Paganism

Demystifying Paganism
I think that this is one sermon that should not send folk to sleep.
The sermon lasts around 20 mins, so make a cup of tea or whatever...
I think I should say that the Rev's rather aggressive attitude at first put me off a little, but I took into account that he was speaking to a group of christians who were it seems rather less than liberal. However listening on, I found the sermon to be rather groundbreaking for a Christian minister. The key seems to be to "Understand"

If anyone wants to put in their "two-pennorth" I'd be really interested.

Forum: Old Messages

Do you have visions as I have. Have you any idea of what they mean?
1. Small GPO van (green in colour) complete with ladders circa 1950 ish going from right to left. Driver not noticeable.
2. Steam locomotive (complete with tender) reversing towards me. I get the impression that it belonged to the Great Western Railway.
3. Jackdaw lands on my left hand & gives me a silver ring.
4. The silhouette of a wrecked Mosquito aircraft

All of the above I experience any time of day whether my eyes are open or closed. I would welcome any suggestions as to possible interpretations. of these.

Forum: Old Messages

Don't know where this came from but it's "haunted" me all my life. Perhaps posting it in The Grove will get rid of it. I have know idea who wrote it (perhaps someone else will) or when I learnt it but every so often it pops into my mind without invitation.

A man of words but not of deeds
Is like a garden full of weeds
And when those weeds begin to grow
It's like a garden full of snow
And when the snow begins to fall
It's like a bird upon a wall
And when that bird begins to fly
It's like an eagle in the sky
And when the sky begins to roar
It's like a lion at your door
And when the door begins to crack
It's like a stick across your back
And when your back begins to smart
It's like a penknife in your heart
And when your heart begins to bleed
You're dead and dead and dead indeed.

Delightful isn't it!

Rather think Love Laughter & Light

Forum: Old Messages

Do you believe in Angels?

A simple enough question , and to some people easy to answer & just a short while ago my answer would have been no. To me an angel was just an ornament that decorated a Christmas Tree until one event has changed that view completely.
I have always been interested in the Spiritual side of life but in a vague "there might be something there " way. That was until I had a reading by a local & very respected medium by the name of Mark Brandist. The reading itself was very accurate in its content & during the course of this I was offered a pack of Angel Cards to shuffle & then choose one. The card that I chose was of Raphael (who I have since found out to be the Angel of Healing. Under the picture of this Angel was the simple word BREATHE.
The next day started as normal with the usual everyday kind of routine when I felt the beginnings of a panic attack. I had been suffering these for sometime & they were happening increasingly often & becoming more severe to the extent that they were seriously affecting my everyday life. Medication didn't seem to be of much help & neither did the relaxation techniques my doctor had recommended.
At the onset of this attack what flashed into my mind was the picture of the Angel & that simple word. Immediately the symptons disappeared & the feelings that replaced these was total joy! Coincidence I don't think. Angel intervention most definately yes. This has changed my whole outlook on life, that is to say that there is also another side one most people would dismiss as imagination.
I then began to think of other things that had happened to myself & family over the years that I had put down to coincidence or just good luck.
One that really sticks in my mind happened about three years ago. Helping a friend move down from Liverpool we were travelling south on the M6 on a busy Sunday afternoon. We were in the centre lane when a car which was in the overtaking lane suddenly did a 180 degree turn & drove straight across the traffic directly in front of us. He missed our van with no more than inches to spare & the curious part about it was it seemed to happen in slow motion. Instead of being crushed at the front of a major car pile up we reached our destination safely, putting the experience down to good luck. In hindsight luck didn't play a part but Angel intervention did!

Forum: Old Messages

Unplanned needed meetings

A very weird and also extremely convenient meeting happened to me today. I was at an audition in London's pineapple studios, covent garden, and as I left was called by my promo agent telling me of a job for tomorrow morning. However I had to meet up with my brother to collect the details. This was a pain but called brother who uncannily was just leaving the house to make his way to covent garden for dinner who said he would bring the details! Perfect, but this isn't all.. The guy I am working with is coincidentally a friend Trevor, who I had to contact to arrange tomorrow. So, called his girlfriend Peggy for the number, who (have you guessed) was just stepping out of covent garden station headed for work. So I grabbed Trevor's number from her and carried on home.
In case this isn't coincidental enough may I quickly add I was told by Peggy I had actually missed Trevor by about a minute who was just headed to pineapple for the same audition!!
So maybe my intended reason to be at covent garden for the audition is not exactly why i was meant to be there. It seems it was the perfect place to be for the chain of events that occurred after the audition!! Has this type of thing happened to any of you guys?

Forum: Old Messages
